Stone Issue #1 Preview

October 27, 2009

Of course, in a comic book about a warrior, what everyone really wants to know is whether she can fight. In this scene Laurel gets a chance to see how Donna Stone handles herself. Yeah, she seems to be handling herself pretty well.

Lots more action coming in the debut issue of Stone by Rick Silva, Tara Veidt, and Vincent Veidt. Full-format 32-page comic book, available in 2010 from Dandelion Studios.

New Issue of The Edge of Propinquity Is Now Online!

October 15, 2009

Volume 46: October 2009 Welcome to the Edge of Propinquity. Volume 46 is now published. Fall is a time of introspection and self examination as the body prepares for the cold of winter. This month, we have a fight with a deadly foe, the realization that an ally is not what he seems, an attempt at a new alliance and a betrayal of siblings.

Luminations – Desert by Rick Silva Chester Hall travels to Arizona to retrieve a treasure that once belonged to Mattie Ives. But he’s not the only one seeking treasures, and Chess soon finds himself in the path of some deadly adversaries who are leaving a trail of blood and carnage wherever they go.

Santa Maria – Connections by James M. Sullivan Daphne awakes in the hospital and after a conversation with her son, finally makes the connection over what Rodina had warned her about. Rod gets an odd connection to the past when a package is delivered from a friend thought lost long ago. Calliope and Brady make a long overdue connection and learn they will be babysitting while rest of Santa Maria prepares to do battle with a demon.

Solstice – Autumn, Part One by Ivan Ewert Harvest days see new growth as Autumn comes to the valley, along with brand new plans. Against Corbin’s advice, Mayor Long and his cadre begin working to recruit Mars more fully into their number, while Mars deals with his own worries in the form of his daughter, Victoria.

Danyael – Flight by Nick Bergeron Once you’re in over your head, there’s little you can do by flail away and try to swim. Of course, that’s only if you realize that you can’t touch the bottom of the pool anymore. I’m flailing away for all I’m worth, but I still get the feeling I’m drowning. And the angel? Rather than try to swim, it’s taking a different approach. Flight.

Guest Author – Inspirations by Seanan McGuire Communion is an act of faith in a largely faithless world. When a woman finds herself amongst true believers in a most unusual church, she has a choice of joining them in their profane worship of a Muse or stepping back and losing what her heart desires most.

Have you ever looked over the edge and seen something looking back at you?

Meet The New Publisher-In-Training!

October 8, 2009

We are back from an incredible experience in China and we’re very happy to report that the trip and the adoption went smoothly.

While we adjust to this whole parenting thing, we’ll also be getting back on schedule with Dandelion Studios website updates and comic book previews.

Kaeli & Rebecca: Exiles in Kess will resume here next week on a once-per-week schedule, and will continue until we have reprinted the full run of that original story.

We also look forward to showing off more of the wonderful art that is being produced by Katrina Joyner, Tara Veidt, Missy Pena, and Gynn Stella for our upcoming print comic projects. Preview will resume next week.

In the meantime, look for small updates to the website as we put more of our backstock of products up for sale in our online store and continue to expand our links and our creator bios page.

So before we get back to work, here are the proud parents, Rick Silva & Gynn Stella, with the newest member of the Dandelion Studios team!
