New Issue of the Edge of Propinquity Is Now Online: Includes the Final Installment of Rick Silva’s “Luminations” Serial
December 15, 2009
After four years, 49 stories (48 monthly installments, and 1 extra “teaser” piece), and four narrators, I am concluding my “Luminations” serial with this episode. It’s probably not the best jumping-in point for new readers, but the links to the old episodes are all there.
Hope you enjoy finding out “How It Ends”.
I’m not leaving The Edge of Propinquity. I’ll have a new one-year serial set in a new story world starting in January. Until then, I thank everyone who took the time to check out the “geek-noir” adventures of Chess, Nancy, Katy, and Mattie. Thanks too to my wonderful editor and my fellow authors on the site! Looking forward to 2010 and “Four Visitors”!
Volume 48: December 2009
Welcome to the Edge of Propinquity. Volume 48 is now published. The death of the year brings with it both pain and the promise of a new beginning. This month we have an awakening to an old purpose, the death of revenge, the cycle of love and death repeated and the end of a long struggle for control. This concludes the 2009 year for the Edge of Propinquity. We will return again in 2010 with new Universe authors, new universe stories and, of course, our monthly guest author. Thank you for reading.
Luminations – How It Ends by Rick Silva
Chester Hall is ready to go to war for the sake of restless spirit Mattie Ives. He’s got his strongest allies at his side, and the enemy is cornered. But Joe Tuckerman has one last plan to escape Mattie’s vengeance. It’s a brutal fight to the finish for Chess and his friends in the final installment of Luminations. How will it end? Mattie Ives will have to make one final choice in the hope that it will bring her peace at last.
Solstice – Autumn, Part Three by Ivan Ewert
As the Harvest Festival winds to a close, Michael Monroe comes face to face with an unexpected angel. She works for Mayor Long on a daily basis – but is her waking of Mars on his behalf, or her own?
Danyael – Revelation by Nick Bergeron
Everyone knows when they’re headed for the end of their story. A tense feeling in the stomach, the sense of falling out of control, the smell of inevitability in the air. All things come to an end, and no denial or acceptance changes this. There remains only to take your final actions and then take your bow in the spotlight.
Guest Author – The Letter by Michael Jarrette-Kenny
A poet travels to New Orleans to find inspiration. Instead, he finds love-perhaps eternal love. This could be both heaven and hell if of one or both of the young lovers are already dead.
Have you ever looked over the edge and seen something looking back at you?
