We’re scheduled to be at Queen City Kamikaze tomorrow, 2/16/14, in Manchester NH. QCK is always a fun show and we’ve been looking forward to it.
We’re also under a blizzard warning here on Cape Cod, with 8-12 inches of snow expected this afternoon and tonight.
So whether we actually head north is going to depend on road conditions here when we wake up.
Forecast is for sunny weather in Manchester on Sunday, so hopefully the con will be well-attended. We’ll update via Twitter (@dandelionstudio) when we know definitely whether we’ll be making the trip up.

Amid the preparations for Arisia last week, Gynn and I were frantically working on putting together the fifth installment of Unpopular Species, our science/nature minicomic series about creatures that are, well, less loved.
I ended up pulling a near-all-nighter on Friday night to get it done, but we managed to debut it on at the convention on Saturday.
Unpopular Species #5 covers the Northwestern US, and includes a dozen plants, animals, and fungi that have all had some sort of bad reputation, whether deserved or not. From banana slugs to grizzly bears, from giant Pacific octopi to poison oak, you will discover amazing and sometimes disturbing facts in every entry.

Artist Stephanie O’Donnell has two awesome pieces for us.
First up, is her interpretation of Nina, AKA Widget Woman of the Legion of Good Girls. You can read about Nina’s adventures as a former minion turned superheroine in the pages of Zephyr & Reginald: Minions For Hire.
And here’s a piece that Perils of Picorna villainess Jespina personally requested. She’s always wanted to be featured in a drawing punching Picorna in the face. Read Perils of Picorna to see more of their battles!

We’d like to take this time to introduce the newest member of the Dandelion Studios team. Stephanie Hocutt joins us as the new artist on Perils of Picorna, beginning with issue #3. Stephanie was personally recruited by Missy Pena when Missy’s schedule made it impossible for her to continue with the series.
We’d also like to take this time to thank Missy Pena for the spectacular work that she did in getting this series off the ground. We look forward to seeing Missy’s future projects and wish her all the best.
Stephanie Hocutt has already completed ten pages of issue #3, and we are confident you will love her work.
Here a bit more of Stephanie’s background:
Stephanie is a SCAD graduate who lives in Los Angeles, working as a freelancer on anything from sequential art to greeting cards. She also works part time in a comic shop, so her bookshelves are overflowing with comicky goodness. When she isn’t playing video games or eating spicy curry, she’s likes working on her own webcomic called August September, which is about a musical yeti and his boy. Although she is prepared for the zombie apocalypse, she believes that the robot revolution is a far more pressing matter, and thwarts our would-be overlords whenever she can.
Now, we know it’s been a very long time since we’ve had any new Perils of Picorna artwork to show you, so instead of going on singing the praises of Stephanie as an artist, let’s give the artwork the chance to speak for itself. Here’s your first look at Perils of Picorna #3!
