Principal Holding: The city of Ayesfork in central Ferstaal (actually the largest city in
Ferstaal), and the County of Eddys.

Additional Holdings: The town of Torsville, which is the main gateway to the western
frontier, and the town of White Bend along the Ayes River.


Outlook: House Hestor’s lands are the gateway to the western frontier, where fortunes
are being made as new townships are carved out of the wilderness. With control of
Ferstaal’s largest and most centrally located city as well, House Hestor should be
in a position of great economic strength.

However, a succession of bad leaders and squandered opportunities has left them weak,
and only in recent years have they begun to realize their potential. In order to truly
be able to take advantage of the opportunities provided by their access to the frontier,
House Hestor wants two things: A strong military (something they’ve never been able
to muster effectively), and the railroad. Their solution is to court the favor
of the Guild, which they have done with a good degree of success. The Guild is
headquartered in Ayesfork, and Guild-run mills, mines, and foundries dot the landscape
of House Hestor’s territories.

This has brought conflict with the Church, who have accused House Hestor of angering
the spirits through their thoughtless use of the land. The Church has stopped short of
taking punitive action so far, but there have been dire warnings issued.

Hestor has a traditional alliance with House Kassof, which remains strong, although
perhaps not as strong as during the time of the Second Civil War where the two fought
together against the coalition led by House Salkesson and House Stagg.
