Outlook: Fiercely independent, the sailors of House Pax are the fishermen, whalers and
long-distance traders of Ferstaal. They are allied with the weak but also independent
House Slade, and they traditionally side with the King on most matters of dispute.

They have been accused of neglecting the inland portions of Lee County, allowing it
to become a haven for outlaws and bandits while they keep their attention turned to the
sea. With their sturdy seagoing vessels and stout fighters, House Pax has been Ferstaal’s
first line of defense against pirates and invaders from the sea. During ancient times,
the ships of House Pax were the only forces who actually engaged the Great Armada
in battle, and although they were defeated, the bards of House Pax never fail to remind
the other nobles of that day when they stood and fought while the rest of the Kingdom
backed down.
