Outlook: House Vasille has ruled Ferstaal for eight generations, after the Treaty of Cornion settled
the civil war between House Kassof and House Salkesson. House Vasille remained
neutral in that conflict and the first Vasille King, Tor I is said to have taken up the crown
reluctantly, and only as a way of preventing further bloodshed. Regardless, the Vasille
Kings have done well, and there has been relative internal stability since their line
took the throne.

The Vasille line has traditionally favored strong ties to a majority of weaker houses,
a tactic that has served to keep the old powers, Kassof, Salkesson, Stagg, and Hestor in
check. Their strongest ally over the years has been house Vitur, an alliance only
only strengthened by the presence of a Vitur queen on the throne during the current
reign until her death two years back.

The Vasilles have also traditionally had a good working relationship with parliament,
unlike the kings of previous dynasties. This has allowed the King at times to
circumvent the will of the noble houses.

The relationship of the current King to the Church and the Guild has been less than ideal,
with both of these powerful bodies lobbying for the King's favor in their recent disputes,
and neither side satisfied with the stance of neutrality that the King has insisted on taking.
